想請教關於due to用法，

考試直接幹掉命中應該是蠻高的，找了一下
正確句裡面只有三句，第二三句看起來是用在很不重要的順帶一提一個名詞，而第一句不太懂。可以問一下他什麼時候會正確嗎?

due 是形容詞，不能修飾整句話的動作，所以才不能放在句首。比如：Due to his efforts, we were able to caught Justin Bieber. 語意上「原因」要修飾的是were able to 這個結果，但是放句首的形容詞只能修飾名詞，這樣變成「原因」在修飾主詞「we」，沒有帶出跟主句動作的因果連結。

再來，你仔細看這三個句子，第一句是due to 的特殊用法，放在句尾逗點後面，可以做前句話的延伸結構修飾整句。第二句話due當S+beV+adj裡的形容詞，修飾的主詞increase剛好就是結果。第三句話是prove +N+adj，due to 修飾的剛好是結果excessive loss。

簡單來說，要馬就擺在句尾修飾整句，要馬就擺在句中修飾名詞（而那個名詞本身在句意上一定就要是因果的「果」！）。放句首是不會出現的。不過在gmat大多數的情況，because都清晰多了，也準多了。所以我們自然會產生「due to直接槓掉」的錯覺。

正式考試的判題準則：due to 放句首不可用。放其他地方判斷與所修飾對象的邏輯關係是否恰好是因果。再來看看其他選項的because或as a resulf of 之類的詞有沒有更簡潔。真的不行，就避開這個點吧。
